the journeys...
Our 8 and 5-day
photo safaris are mainly aimed
at
nature and outdoor photography enthusiasts or working professionals. Along the way,
participants will have the opportunity to visit a diversity
of unique ecosystems
of Northern and Western Argentina, in places
located off the usual beaten tracks. As photographers, we need time to shoot our
film and searc h
for the best view points to frame our art.
Above all, our safaris
are about
getting you safely and comfortably to the right place, at the correct time of day and to let you stay
there for all the necessary time you need to capture the magnificence of nature
at its best.
An experienced
photographer and a professional ecologist will guide you through the world of
both field photography and nature. All destinations will be reached by suitable
and secure vehicles, thus
keeping climbing, trekking and walking
to a minimum.
At the end of each
day, expect comfortable accommodation
provided at different hotels and inns that preserve
the colonial architecture of the locations
visited.
Within
brief distances,
we'll take you on routes that cover different ecosystems
so you will have the chance to photograp h
a series of unique geographical backdrops, wildlife, textures,
colors, human
activity and climatic conditions.
These vary from low rainfall deserts
and/or semi deserts on Western and North-Western
Argentina to
humid mountain grasslands,
and extremely dry and cold high-altitude ecosystems of the Andes. Subtropical
mountain cloudy forests will not be overlooked,
either. Along this path, one can see heaps of cacti, shrubs and ephemeral
plants; temperate thorny xeroph ytic
woodland; humid mountain grasslands, where scattered tussock grasses flourish
and herbs alternate with granitic
outcrops.
Besides
the endless great outdoor photography
opportunities, we will visit people working hand in hand with nature as part of
their daily activities. You
can capture images of farmers, dwellers and other people
working along
irrigated vineyards, wine factories, cat tle
management, charcoal production, goat and cow breeding, salt extraction, sugar
cane plantations, small scale wine factories,
vineyards, llama breeding,
cattle ranching, pottery,
agriculture, hand knitting, and many other typical human activities in all their
natural essence.
For a grand finale
to our expedition, a selection of the best
photographs taken
by the participants will be exhibited
at an art gallery. While enjoying an elega nt cocktail party
we will all have the opportunity to share this incredible experience
with local guests, invited for the
occasion. Each participant
will be sent a small personalized photographic book by mail to remember the
trip. And of course, loads of pictures will be uploaded to our website for
everyone to see.
